Greetings! Sorry for uploading after SUCH A LONG TIME... I have been a little busy lately. But yes, I am back, I will try to be regular from now on.
Subas Chandra Bose was an Indian Freedom Fighter, who has been given the title of Netaji.
He led the AZAD HIND FAUJ, or the INDIAN NATIONAL ARMY or INA to the borders of India to win his motherland back. In today's blog, I will be covering the story of his escape from his house as a Pathan, to going to the Soviet Union, then Germany, and then taking control of INA.
Subas was born on 23rd January 1897 in Cuttack. He had given the Civil Service Examinations in London but after getting to know about the Jallianwala Bagh Tragedy, he came back to India and joined the Indian National Congress. Soon after that he was elected the President of Congress but resigned because of his differences with Gandhi.
He made his own party named Forward Bloc, which focused on the ideology of Socialism. However, he was put under house arrest following this act. He later escaped from his house dressed as a Pathan acting deaf and dumb to Afghanistan. He then went to USSR or the Soviet Union so that he could ask for help, however, he understood that the Soviets weren't interested in his ideologies. After that, he went to Germany and was supported by the tyrannical dictator Adolf Hitler. He also formed a small army there with the help of the prisoners of war that he obtained from the battles of North Africa. However, due to the losses faced by Germany in WWII he had to leave. From there he travelled to Japan and took control of the INA.
Japan gave Netaji control of the Andaman and Nicobar islands and he then prepared to start an armed struggle against the British with the help of the Japanese army to free his motherland India.
He first captured Rangoon and then got set to attack Manipur. But the Japanese left his aid due to WW2 leaving the INA alone. They lost and surrendered. Netaji escaped, however. He fled to USSR but died in Taiwan due to a plane crash.
Netaji was an able leader. If he was made prime minister instead of Nehru, the story of India would have been very different.
I would like to end this blog with the motto of INA:-
Victory to India!
